After growing up in Tucson, I joined the Army in 1998 and then the Army National Guard in 2002. I graduated from the Univeristy of Arizona with a degree in Anthropology in 2009. I discovered a pasion for photography in December 2015. I have no regrets about the path I took before photography, I just wish I had had a camera to capture that trip.
Photography reignited a sense of adventure and gave a new purpose to every activity in my life. Driving home could turn into a trip down an isolated road to see what was down there. A hike up a mountain went from an amazing view for myself to an image I could share with everyone. People I otherwise wouldn't meet I now get to share their most cherished moments and share tell their story to the world.
Tucson is an amazing city for all art, but especially photography. I am priviliaged to be a part of a thriving photography community and have met an array of amazing new friends. I am especially honored to work with Scott and Anna Griessel of Creatista Films, Video and Photography. With them I have been able to work with the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, the 4th Ave Merchant's Association and Downtown Tucson Partnership.
I am a professional. As a leader of soldiers that has been part of my creed for over 20 years, and I will carry that same ethic into my photography.
I am an artist. It is an amazing feeling to see something that doesn't yet exist and then go out and create it. I will always strive to try to create something new.
I am a member of a team. I started with shooting landscapes, but know the most rewarding work is with other people. Whether it's with assistants, hair and make up, models or the client, all of us have an important role in creating the images. I will fulfill my role, and I will not take other's contributions for granted.
I am an anthropologist. I want to tell other's stories through my art. I will never know what it's like to be another person, but I always try to see the world through other's perspectives. Including you rlife and vision must always remain a key part of my work.
